Abstract:[Objective] In order to scientifically evaluate the comprehensive ecological function status of Cunninghamia lanceolata forests of different stand ages in Louziaba State-owned Forest Farm of Changting County in Fujian Province, clarify the main influencing factors and improvement directions, and provide data support and scientific basis for the ecological management and functional optimization of Cunninghamia lanceolata forests in this region. [Method] Representative sample plots were set up in five Cunninghamia lanceolata forests of different stand ages in the forest farm, and a comprehensive evaluation system was established by selecting 14 indicators from three dimensions including water conservation, soil conservation and understory vegetation diversity. The Analytic Hierarchy Process was adopted to determine the index weights, the weighted comprehensive index method was used to quantify the comprehensive evaluation value of ecological functions, and the system obstacle degree model was applied to identify the key obstacle factors restricting the improvement of ecological functions. [Result] ① The comprehensive evaluation values of ecological functions of Cunninghamia lanceolata forests were ranked as 11 a (0.72) > 7?8 a (0.31) > 3?4 a (0.28), with the corresponding evaluation grades being Grade Ⅱ, Grade Ⅳ and Grade Ⅳ respectively, indicating that the ecological functions showed an overall increasing trend with the growth of stand age. (2) With the increase of stand age, the functions of water conservation and soil conservation presented an increasing trend, while the function of understory vegetation diversity showed a decreasing trend. (3) There were significant stage-specific differences in the core obstacle factors of Cunninghamia lanceolata forests in different stand age stages. The main obstacle factors for 3?4 a stands were effective litter retention capacity, soil effective water storage capacity and soil erosion intensity; those for 7?8 a stands were effective litter retention capacity and soil organic matter content; and those for 11 a stands were soil effective water storage capacity, Shannon-Wiener index and Simpson index. [Conclusion] For the ecological management and functional optimization of Cunninghamia lanceolata forests in this region, differentiated improvement strategies should be implemented. For 3?4 a stands, mixed litters can be artificially applied, and fish-scale pits and intercepting ditches can be built along contour lines; for 7?8 a stands, decomposed leaf fertilizer or organic fertilizer can be applied by furrow application, and native broad-leaved trees can be introduced to construct mixed forests; for 11 a stands, understory vegetation regulation measures should be taken to properly retain native shrubs and herbs, and carry out mixed forest transformation.
