Abstract:[Objective] This study focuses on the data from 30 cities and prefectures in the Sichuan-Guizhou region from 2011 to 2020. The aim is to explore the coordination level and influencing factors of green development and rural revitalization in the Sichuan-Guizhou region. The goal is to provide a scientific basis for promoting green development and rural revitalization in the western regions of China, facilitating the coordinated development of both aspects.[Methods] A comprehensive indicator system for green development and rural revitalization is constructed. Coupling coordination models and Tobit models are employed to analyze the coupling coordination relationship and influencing factors between green development and rural revitalization. Heterogeneous analysis is conducted based on regional characteristics.[Results] ① The green development index in the Sichuan-Guizhou region shows slight fluctuations under different policy influences, with significant differences between regions. The rural revitalization index experiences a significant increase after the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, with relatively small differences between regions. ② The coupling coordination level between green development and rural revitalization in the Sichuan-Guizhou region shows an upward trend over the years. ③ Considering the impact of economic, policy, and geographical factors on the coordination level of green development and rural revitalization in the region, all influencing factors, except for elevations are significant and positive. ④ Heterogeneous results indicate significant heterogeneity in factors such as educational development, technological innovation, transportation conditions, environmental regulations, slope, and altitude in different regions. [Conclusion] The Sichuan-Guizhou region should encourage and support economic development, pay attention to government influence, engage in industrial structure adjustment and upgrading, continuously improve levels of education and technological innovation, enhance transportation conditions, and address environmental regulations. Tailored approaches should be implemented to enhance the coordination level of green development and rural revitalization based on local conditions.
